Cold War Adversary
Canada's Oberon Class submarines, HMCS Ojibwa, HMCS Onondaga and HMCS Okanagan pitted their skills against a Soviet fleet that included the Papa Class - the fastest submarines of their day. Soviet boats had their own nomenclature but the Allied powers of the world referred to them by their NATO designations which used the Alfa, Bravo, Charlie system to identify the various classes of Soviet submarines.
